Hope Elisabeth Thompson is a second-born in a modest family of 6 from a small beach town in the panhandle, Pensacola, Florida. She grew up in an old military housing neighborhood marked as a red-line district, with over 75% of the houses becoming a part of the HUD program by the time she was 10. Her neighborhood consisted of every skin color, every combination of ethnic background and lifestyle one could conceive. This normal allowed her to see life through a unique pair of glasses and taught her to measure people by the character of their hearts and not outward appearances or class.
